Welcome to the new look The Culture Concept Circle and Fashion Elixir!
It’s always exciting to re-vamp and re-style, whether it be websites, homes, hair or fashion.
So here we are nearly in July and really winter hasn’t hit in the Southern Hemisphere.
It can be so confusing to know what to wear when you feel like you should be rugging up in hats, scarves and coats and it’s just not that cold.
The great thing for shoppers is all the sales the retailers are having.
It’s definitely time to grab a bargain and re-stock the wardrobe if you are so inclined.
And I know I’m always inclined!
Winter is usually a time for hibernation, but this year it feels so fresh, especially just after Fashion Week. I must say I do feel like getting into Summer gear after such a strong showing at MBFWA 2016 resort collections.
It was a brilliant week, with designers bringing their game to the runway in such a confident way. I felt so proud of our home grown talent, especially the new kids on the block.
One show that rocked was “Swim”.
Aussies do swimwear so well, after all our climate is perfectly in tune with beach culture. The “Chase The Sun” collection from Aqua Blu was divine.
I have had the pleasure of seeing the last collection from this amazing label.
They produce lush fabrics with design and prints that have become a signature for their label.
Brilliantly bold colours were front and centre in this excellent showcase – modernity and femininity combined.
And the finale was just fab!
A beaded bodice with gorgeous tulle over a skirt skimming down the runway being dramatically discarded was a brilliant ending!
It’s what we adore about fashion – beauty and drama!
Duskii created the allure of the exotic North African kingdoms and the world of Arabic Africa.
Gorgeous prints with influences taken from middle eastern tile work in dramatic monochrome showed elegant restraint and pure class.
I love seeing what our clever creatives come up with in our Fashion Week, and swimwear is no exception.
It’s a large market that needs something for everyone, and here in Australia we do it oh so well. Bright, bold and sassy is the order of the day.
Palm Swimwear had an air of romance in it’s “Qualia” collection.
Modern elegant designs and luxurious Italian fabrics showed beautiful restraint and classic lines.
I adored the metallics. Swimwear at its finest.
I can’t wait to see what next years runway shows have to offer.
Till then, see you all next week!
