“Carolyn, I think I’ve mentioned in the past, that in all my 30 years of living in New York City, and attending lectures at the Metropolitan Museum of Art – I encountered few lecturers who could match your ability to bring a subject so vividly to life and place it in context. You have the rare ability to present a rich tapestry of history, both religious and secular, and to illuminate social customs, philosophy, literature, poetry, music and dance – as a background against which to comprehend and interpret all the arts – not just painting and sculpture”. Carol Nina Clark, Brisbane
“…you did so much to raise the level of awareness of the decorative arts and added to the cultural life of the city” John Weaver, Brisbane
“…I will remember you and the Academy in Brisbane fondly for the enlightenment you brought and the widening of vistas across the cultural world” Cecily Dean, Brisbane
“During the years that I have known Carolyn, first as a teacher, then employer and now friend, I have witnessed her great enthusiasm…and total energy in which she puts into achieving the best outcome possible. The course not only satisfied my personal interest and quest for knowledge but has enabled me to expand my interest in Australian heritage. This is of particular relevance in my current role as an elected Councillor where my special interest has been the City of Sydney heritage” Phillip Black, Deputy Lord Mayor, Sydney 2006 – 2010
