Renowned French artists Antoine et Manuel, a duo of graphic designers known to be ‘creatives extraordinaire’ are creating an exhibition for White Night Melbourne 2015. They will feature in the State Library Dome on Saturday 21 February 2015, presenting ‘Eat Me’, a site-specific video projection that takes inspiration from Alice and Wonderland transcended. The project will highlight literature as catalyst for a breath of artistic creation. They will feature shifts in scale and journeys down rabbit holes to recreate the experience of a Wonderland.
This will be a unique and exclusive opportunity for you to explore with them both a selection of their finest works across fine arts, graphic design, fashion and theatre. Recent exhibitions of their work have been held in Paris as the Centre Pompidou, Musée des Arts décoratifs, Musée d’Art moderne of the City of Paris, Grand Palais and Hong Kong Heritage Museum.
At the Musée des Arts décoratifs they transformed seven rooms into seven shows in one with the use of specific scenography. They have produced stunning stage designs for both theatre and ballet, including fashioning the visual identity of the Comédie de Clermont.
The soundtrack for ‘Eat Me’ is created by Sui Zhen, Melbourne rising star musician, whose eerie sounds will be in perfect harmony with the visuals. Working in collaboration with many giants of artistic practice has influenced their work and having created works for Yves Saint Laurent, Christian Lacroix and Cartier they have an innate sense of trends now and beyond. Their Cartieroscope le style et l’histoire jewel like exhibition commission for Cartier, was projected onto the Grand Palais arches at Paris dazzling people with their projections.
