Castor & Pollux the opera is a crowning achievement of French Baroque music. The Pinchgut Opera at Sydney presents this marvellous piece on 6, 8, 9 & 10 December 2012 at the City Recital Hall Angel Place, Sydney. By French master composer Jean-Philippe Rameau (1683-1764) it is surely the greatest of all his works. The Pinchgut has been documenting on their facebook page the journey of its featured ensemble of artists, many of whom have arrived from interstate and overseas to bring this wondrous work to the Australian stage. To play the role of Castor is American Jeffrey Thomson and NZ born bass baritone Hadleigh Adams plays Pollux. The Pinchgut Opera at Sydney , whose reputation for excellence in musical production is renowned, will be sure to achieve another triumph to their already impressive list of fine early music productions and lead a revival of interest in the splendid French music of the Baroque era.
