Celebrate Australia Day Weekend at NGV – Melbourne NOW

Spend the Australia Day long weekend celebrating Melbourne’s art, architecture, design and performance by exploring Melbourne Now at the National Gallery of Victoria. ENTRY IS FREE.

Their two divisions. The NGV International on St Kilda Road and NGV Australia at Federation Square are open on Monday 27 January, 10am–5pm and the experiences to share are many and varied.

The NGV Children’s Festival continues until Sunday 26 January with free workshops and artists talks. Kids can participate in storytelling and theatre, design a shoe, take a drawing class with Tim Fleming in the NGV Garden, attend a dance workshop and join Westside Circus with their interactive show Beach Bodies.

At NGV Australia on Sunday 26th there is Fashion & Photography Icons on Film at 2pm and Entry is FREE

At NGV International, you can explore the exhibition itself and it’s incredible collection of fashion, glamour and 1920s & 1930s photography for the Edward Steichen & Art Deco Fashion Show.

You can also explore paintings and calligraphy from the Asian Collection in Three Perfections: Poetry, Calligraphy and Painting in Chinese Art.
