Celebrating 2 Years – Muse~News Special

Dear Friends, Supporters and Colleagues.

It hardly seems possible that two years have raced by since I first started The Culture Concept Circle blog in April 2010. This was also when Melbourne, a mutl-cultural and multi-layered city of opportunity, became my home. Many people believe it is one of the most ‘liveable’ cities in the world.

Of all Australia’s cities Melbourne has a unique mixture of European and contemporary Australian design. This includes the Birrarung Marr, a vast open space on the north bank of the Yarra River next to the always controversial development, Federation Square. The Marr celebrates the diversity of Victoria’s indigenous culture, by interpreting stories from local communities through public artworks. When I am out walking each day through the Marr and nearby botanical gardens, what I enjoy to see is just how culturally diverse are the people enjoying Melbourne’s many beautiful and bountiful aspects.

Sydney stylist Jo Bayley from Sydney and Sheena Burnell in Shanghai joined me in writing for ‘The Circle’ this year to provide their perspectives on Fashion around the world, and the Shanghai arts and cultural landscape respectively. We also have the help of our much valued behind the scenes production team, Paul and Ross McDowall, who despite having busy professional lives, keep us technically up to date and looking good. Thanks guys.

We are also very grateful to all our supporters, friends and colleagues who provide us with advance notice of up and coming events. They keep us up to date globally with exhibitions and items of interest for readers of both the blog and our newsletter, Muse~News.
