We have intentionally built a lot more flexibility into the subjects covered by our newsletter. You can access it easily, read the articles and watch our on line videos at your convenience.
It represents an important step in the growth of The Culture Concept Circle and the services it offers, which now includes hosting our own You Tube Channel.
Of more general interest is our new What Is Series, which offers a brief, meaty moment of art, design and style movements. You can brush up on your Art Deco and Arts and Crafts, find out if Fashion is more than a frock or about the beginnings of Meissen Porcelain.
In our Book of the Month we are taking a slightly unorthodox approach. We are suggesting two new books one of international interest and one of local interest. The first is an autobiography of someone who has contributed a great deal to the art of entertainment world wide Britain’s most popular Dame, Judi Dench And Furthermore.
The second is as an important work to the study of art, design and cultural development in Australia Macquarie from Colony to Country. Both are available at the online bookstore www.bookoffers.com.au where you can search for the best price internationally and have it delivered to your door.
Our Music of the Month features Mandolins of Brisbane a group who play stunningly on beautiful instruments, which have a long history of music written especially for them. Their new concert is a world premiere. Garlands will be conducted by Nathan Aspinall, who is currently studying French Horn and Conducting at the University of Queensland. 4MBS have the information and the tickets online.
We have also been notified about the inaugural Summer Music Workshops to be held at Logan in Brisbane December 17th to 19th. Award winning and inspiring tutors will facilitate intensive music learning in a supportive and creative atmosphere.
