Jayson Gillham Pianist – ABC Classics Deal, A Trio of Albums

Jayson 3Having gained a legion of fans and followers in Brisbane during his student years nearly a decade ago, the Queensland born pianist Jayson Gillham has grown his followers world wide by playing in many prestigious competitions, winning some and receiving honourable mentions in many others. Fans and followers will be thrilled to hear of his three album deal with ABC Classics, recently signed.

Jayson 1Jayson Gillham has been making  his way well playing at home and abroad, especially in his new home town London, where he has been based since graduating from the Royal Academy of Music.

Jayson 2His concerts at the Wigmore Hall have garnered many great reviews and in June 2014, Jayson was awarded First Prize in the Montreal International Music Competition – The Montreal Gazette reporting that ‘Jayson Gillham earned his win with absorbing and relentless elegance’. the three album deal with ABC Classics is an important step in expanding his career on the world stage.

Jayson at MontrealHis program of masterworks will include works by three composers of the late Baroque and Classical era in music J.S. Bach (1685-1750), Frédéric Chopin (1810 – 1849) and Franz Schubert (1797- 1828). His passion for playing pieces by all three of these composer’s greatest works is ongoing. In his latest news he says “Needless to say, it is very exciting and I am looking forward to a long and fruitful relationship with ABC Classics,.  I’ll be making the recording of the first solo-piano disc in Germany next month”.

J. S. Bach Toccata in C minor, BWV 911, Schubert Sonata in A major, D664,  Chopin Prelude in C-sharp minor, Op. 45, Chopin Sonata No. 3 in B minor, Op. 58.
