Jo Bayley’s Fashionable Start to 2013

Happy 2013 to all my fabulous readers! Here I am, back, refreshed and rearing to go in 2013.

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and that Santa provided stockings filled with goodies, fashionable, edible or otherwise.

Anyone who read my 12 Days of Christmas would remember I wished for a pair of Miu Miu sunglasses under my tree. Well I’m happy to say, Santa (in the form of my lovely husband) was kind and delivered the goods.

They work perfectly with my wardrobe and I have had many compliments.

I also managed to pick up the Oroton “Baja” cuffs that I was coveting (see Armed with Accessories). Instead of the tortoise shell resin, I chose black with the crystals.

It seemed to me to be a better staple for winter.

I picked up 2 in the sales, for less than the price of one. Sometimes it pays to wait!

They will look fantastic either doubled up, or one on each wrist. A strong statement that will work with a simple silhouette, perfect for the fashion direction of 2013.

I am already compiling a wish list for this year’s purchases, I can’t help myself.

One of which is the Gucci Soho disco bag.

But first, a wardrobe cull. Time to be ruthless and strike while the iron’s hot.

So this year, what can you expect from Fashion Elixir?

Hopefully I can entertain and steer you on the right sartorial course.

I will be sharing tips and tricks on bargain shopping, celebrating “The Bride”, helping you discover the building blocks of fashion, the classic essential buys, and introduce you to some very special stand alone boutiques around town.

There will be some foreign correspondence too!

Everything you needed to know about eating, shopping and holidaying in Bali (and who knows where else?). I’m always up for an adventure.

This year, will we be surrounded by the neon glow that has been so hot in 2012? Are we over statement jewellery?

Will the trend of sky high heels keep our backs and feet aching?

What “it” bag will we covet? Who will lead the eternal race, that is the fashion stakes?

With new appointments to Saint Laurent and Balenciaga all eyes will be on Hedi Slimane and Alexander Wang respectively, to deliver the goods. Heavy responsibilities on young, but more than capable shoulders. What other shake ups will have the fash pack gossiping?

I would love to hear what you, my readers think, and what you would like to read about.

Next week, I offer an insight to where I think fashion is headed this winter.

So please join me every Wednesday for Fashion Elixir!
