It’s that time of year again where I look back and dissect my favourite looks for the year.
Who made the cut?
Let’s find out.
There have been some fabulous looks this year and designers have outdone themselves, we have seen some fantastic trends too.
I just adore Poppy Delevingne.
She may be the sister to model-actress Cara Delevingne, but in no way does she play second fiddle to her famous sibling.
Poppy has a “gypset” style and channels ’70’s hippy luxe to a tee.
Loving this shaggy coat, flared jeans and granny glasses combo.
Whether in a floaty beaded maxi dress, a simple cotton shift or a floral strewn wedding dress Poppy is super cool in my book.
American singer-songwriter actress Taylor Swift has been ticking boxes for a while now.
As she graces this months cover of Australian Vogue, I think she is well on her way to style icon status.
I must say I had to look twice to recognise her, but I love that she can reinvent herself so effortlessly.
Her hair is fantastic.
I’ve always been a fan of that deep ash blonde, and Swift’s shaggy mane is a winner.
Homegrown talent singer Jessica Mauboy just gets better and better.
Discovered in Australia’s Northern Territory by Australian Idol, Jessica has gone from strength to strength.
From an unsure teenager she has grown into a gorgeous young woman.
Personally, I think what make Jess look so gorgeous is her inner beauty, which radiates on her outer being.
That megawatt smile cannot be ignored, and her luxurious voice is just sublime!
She is also an excellent role model for young girls.
If you haven’t seen her in the 2012 smash hit movie “The Sapphires” make sure you check it out.
I guarantee you’ll become a fan!
Oscar winning actress Cate Blanchett has just been on the campaign trail for her new movie “Carol”.
Nailing the Red Carpet is no easy feat, but winning every time is just gold.
This Alexander McQueen designed gown is fabulous.
In basic black, the gown is anything but basic!
The plunging neckline, delicate beading and obi style belt make this dress Oscar worthy.
Last but not least is English fashion model, television presenter, and contributing editor at British Vogue, Alexa Chung.
Her style is cool Britannia, making her an “it” girl of the new millennium.
Muse to many designers, Alexa has also collaborated with AG jeans with a line of ’70’s inspired denim.
Chung is muse to many, including Victoria Beckham and the “King” Karl Lagerfeld.
Not bad to inspire these two top quality designers.
So there you have it. My top five fashion plates for 2015.
Who inspires you? I’d love to know.
