Lunchtime Art of Music in Sydney at City Recital Hall 2014

$15 seems a fair price to enjoy a series of five lunchtime concerts in the City Recital Hall, Sydney for those working or shopping in the vicinity of Martin Place, the heart of the Sydney CBD. Each show offers a different guest artist and starts at 12:30 pm. The first on 3rd February, 2014 is Multi ARIA Award Winner, Joseph Tawadros, an Oud virtuoso of amazing diversity and sensitivity. The oud is stringed instrument generally used for music that originates in Middle Eastern countries, and very similar to the lute.

On 11th April Sydney Symphony Orchestra Concertmaster Andre Haveron joins Australian Chamber Orchestra’s Principal Cellist Timo-Veikko Valve and Artistic Director Kathryn Selby AM for an exploration of one of the most beloved piano trios, Dvor?ák’s Dumky, Op.90.

Principals of the Australian Chamber Orchestra: Helena Rathbone (violin), Ike See (violin), Christopher Moore (viola) and Timo-Veikko Valve (cello), will feature alongside Finnish cellist Johannes Rostamo for a performance of Schubert’s masterful Cello Quintet in C major, D.956 on 20th June.

On 22nd August its Conductor Dr Nicholas Milton leading the Willoughby Symphony Orchestra in a performance of Mendelssohn’s Italian Symphony with guest soloist Artistic Director Kathryn Selby AM playing a Mozart concerto.

October 8th is the date when ‘Stars from Opera Australia’ including the lovely Taryn Fiebig, soprano (photo by Steven Godbee) and Margaret Plummer, mezzo soprano. They will present a fabulous program of opera aria favourites! BOOK TICKETS
