Australia’s songbird secret Mirusia Louwerse is of Dutch descent, born in Australia at Brisbane where she graduated from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music (2006). She was the youngest ever winner of the Dame Joan Sutherland Award. Mirusia believes that music is essential to the human spirit, the creation of a strong sense of place and an important aspect of community life. Mirusia is going back to the Netherlands with grand theater! The Dutch-Australian singer, became known as the star soloist with Andre Rieu, working hard on the road worldwide. With her amazing voice and fine sense of showmanship Mirusia presents, with her band of international musicians, an evening to remember. “My favorite things” is a wonderful program full of musical highlights, in which the “Angel of Australia” proves herself an international star.
Mirusia released her first album in Australian in 2010 and it shot straight to No 1 on the Australian Aria Classical charts, as well as making the top 20 on the ‘pop’ charts. In 2012 she won the ARIA #1 Chart Award for Always & Forever and was the only classical artist to receive such an award. Mirusia‘s journey since leaving our shores to sing with Andre Rieu all around the world has been both an enriching time and a wonderful learning experience.
