National Trust Victoria – Xmas Twilight & 100 Summer Events

Rippon Lea XmasAs part of their Garden Festival the National Trust of Australia (Victoria), Rippon Lea Estate will present their Twilight Christmas Festival 2014, celebrating with the sounds of sweet music by school choirs and bands performing Christmas Carols. You can enjoy shopping at the arts and crafts gift market, tour this amazing historic house and enjoy your picnic on the lawn near the lake of swimming pool. Friday 12th December 2014, 5pm to 9pm. Barwon-Park-interior-4-300x414At Barwon Park Mansion, 105 Inverleigh Road, Winchelsea the Theatre of the Winged Unicorn, certainly a very exotic name, presents readings from the much loved Charles Dickens classic novel A Christmas Carol. First published in 1843, this social commentary about giving people a chance to redeem themselves for the cruel and sad things they have done in their past.

ScroogeOld Ebenezer Scrooge learns how to remain true to his promise and how to honour Christmas with all his heart. It will be presented by Ben and Elaine Mitchell with guest soprano Lisa Breen. Mulberry-external-1At Mulberry Hill, 385 Golf Links Road, Langwarrin South on the 14th December the Christmas Twilight Festival 2014 will feature a ‘pop up bar’ with wine from the Dromana Estate, beer from Red Hill Brewery, Cider from Cheeky Rascal and gin from Bass & Flinders distillery. With food vans abounding you won’t starve and the fundraising sausage sizzle and Devonshire teas will go down a treat.

KidsDuring the school holiday season families are invited to check out the National Trust of Australia (Victoria) 100 Days of Summer Events. The kids will love it; Caribbean pirates, Teddy Bear picnics, Country Markets, Alice in Neverland, The Importance of Being Earnest at Como, Australia Day at La Trobe’s Cottage are only but some to choose from.
