I trust you, my lovely readers had a wonderful Christmas and a joyful beginning to the New Year.
So, what’s in fashion for 2014, I hear you ask!
Perhaps you will be wearing the Pantone colours for 2014?
This year they are Celosia orange, Paloma, Hemlock, Freesia, Cayenne, Sand, Placid Blue, Dazzling Blue, Violet Tulip and the official colour for 2014, Radiant Orchid.
This is stunning mix of fuchsia, purple and pink undertones, all in all one superb joyful colour.
This year we will be exploring old and new, high end and high street, coiffure and couture, and all the changes in the fickle world of fashion.
I will be travelling to update my best of Bali lists and, other yet to be decided locations.
What will you be loving, needing or just wanting in 2014?
Who will have the hottest haircut of the season?
Shall we copy it?
Who will be this years mega muse?
Will you be wearing my personal favourite mid-length hemline?
Or are we ready for a shift in our shift dress?
I’m still dreaming of a Valentino Rockstud clutch in China blue and a Saint Laurent Betty Bag in baby cat.
You all know my love of leopard!!
I can’t wait to share with you the “Designer Files”.
Where did our most famous fashion houses start, and how far have they come.
Join me every week for our one month focus series on some of my favourite classics.
Spotlight will be on the superb Charles James Exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
Then there is the London based Serbian sensation Roksanda Ilincic (who’s designs I adore), and what I believe will be THE hottest sartorial ticket of the year; the rebirth of the house of Schiaparelli!
2013 saw many moves in the houses of fashion.
Rather like a couture chess game, we witnessed Marc Jacobs departure from Louis Vuitton.
Jacobs was replaced by Nicholas Ghesquiere, formerly of Balenciaga, his shoes were filled by Alexander Wang with aplomb.
Can Nicholas have similar success at his new headquarters or will he be a pawn in a strategic game of money, power and global corporations?
Can they continue their dream runs for these classic couture masons.
I love writing it, so I do hope that you love reading it!
