At 6pm on Sunday 18th December Vox Pacific Chamber Choir will provide celebratory music for the Nine Lessons & Carols at St John’s Cathedral, 373 Ann Street, Brisbane. Directed by Katherine Chan, beautiful music is presented, along with meditative readings for the season by members of the congregation. This ongoing Anglican tradition was made famous at King’s College, Cambridge, where it was based on an old medieval rite restored during the early years of the 20th century. Hear music from all the church heavyweight composers including Ralph Vaughn Williams, J.S. Bach, Arvo Pärt and many more. You will enjoy to sing along with all those familiar carols in the stunning music that resonates acoustic of the only stone vaulted Gothic revival cathedral in the Southern Hemisphere. Hear how, according to Christian scripture, the Saviour of the world was born. Everyone is most welcome.
