Sponsored by Principal Partner Telstra who are connecting more Australians with the joy of the ballet, they are touring regional New South Wales 28 July to 22 August presenting gems of the ballet plus special events, talks and classes for budding hopefuls, part and parcel of their very full calendar.
Western Sydney audiences can experience world-class ballet live on stage with The Australian Ballet’s regional touring program when they present a triple bill, Act III of the most beloved ballet of all time Swan Lake, the ballerina’s favourite ‘tutu spectacular’ Paquita choreographed to show off the girl’s sparkling technique, plus setting up a ‘rumble’ to gather applause for Rimbombo, as the guys showcase their athleticism, artistry, humour and skill. Riverside Theatres in Parramatta.
From Albury to Dubbo, from Bathurst to Port Macquarie and from Newcastle to Tamworth, the emphasis is on everyone having a good time. Russian born dancer and Coryphée Valerie Tereshchenko, together with her colleagues Jared Wright and Corps de Ballet member Brodie James will lead the cast of graduating students showing off their skills and techniques.
There will be a Dancer’s Class on Stage in Bathurst, Tamworth and Newcastle, which is suitable for Grade 6 to Advanced dance students (recommended age 13-18). A candid and personal Q&A with one of the company’s rising stars and watching dancers in action, an appealing prospect.
