‘Well, give me all you got, and don’t hold it back, yeah, am not sure about you but I just want to be happy!!!!! *
Maddison, Bella and Alexa, it all came down to three…
…out of 100, all girls, 10, 12 and 13 years of age.
All had huge voices for their age, they sang with perfect pitch, right on tune, delivering sophisticated performances; mindblowing.
Alexa, ‘This girl is on Fire’, the title of her initial song for the try out to be in the competition in the first place, turned out to be true.
Aged 10 she won the first ever The Voice Kids Australia competition by popular vote.
Am sure there are many people out there who worry about taking voices this young and putting them into competition in the first place.
While I am unaware of the real ‘statistics’, I do know some voices can be ‘burned out’ by overworking them at a young age.
Getting the harmony right in bringing these kids along will be a delicate balancing act for those in charge. They are yet to run the full gambit of puberty blues and are entering a world that is also a minefield of emotions.
For students of ‘the voice’ there is no doubt Maddison and Bella both had the goods.
They are the ‘Barbara Streisand’ style voices of the future, if only the passionate dream they have to be a professional singer is sustained.
Alexa sang Mariah Carey’s big ballad Hero as her final song, with Maddison singing Beyonce’s soulful ‘Listen’, and everyone did. She was breathtaking.
And Bella, well she certainly nailed it with Christina Aguilera’s ‘The Voice Within’ – outstanding performance.
All of these were huge ballads for adults to sing. let alone kids!
My only thought was just how far do their coaches, Mel B, the Madden Brothers and Delta Goodrem all go on this amazing ride with them? Hope they remain mentors for a long time, they will need the guidance.
One thing is for sure; they all have a great deal of promise and real futures in the entertainment business if luck stays on their side.
They will all three shine, rise and become superstars, as long as they have people with them who will help them to keep their feet firmly planted on the ground.
Feel free to ‘Clap along if you know what happiness is to you’, especially if it’s a great voice!
